Growing up across the street at 25 Patricia Street I knew Gert, Doug and Elaine well. Patty had moved out of the house before I was born. Elaine was one of my two best friends as a young child. She was always fun and kind and I hold her dear to my heart.
Douglas is 2 or 3 years older and I still remember him tackling us and giving us "pesos". I still think of Elaine often as she was such a good and true friend and would always come over to visit if she saw me at my folks house after we had grown. The last time I saw her was when we were clearing out my Dad's house for sale she came over to visit. I remember Stanly too with his parakeets which at times would perch on his bare head. In high school I worked in the summer for Endicott Johnson on the same line as Gertrude and she would often give me a ride to work. I remember her as a very kind and strong woman. I never heard her complain or get angry. I wish the best for Elaine, Douglas and your whole family.
All my Love
Bill Clark
