Dominic DiFulvio | Visit Guest Book DiFulvio, Dominic Binghamton: Dominic DiFulvio, 85, of Binghamton, died on April 12 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. His devoted wife of 63 years is Nicoletta Chiarina. Born in Fara Filiorum Petri in 1927, his parents were Antonio and Cristina DiFulvio. He was preceded in death by two older sisters, Adela and Concetta, whose families still reside in Italy. He came to the USA from Italy in 1956 and has since lived in Binghamton. He retired after a long career in construction working for various Binghamton companies. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and had a special devotion to the patron saint of his hometown, St. Anthony. He loved his family, his friends, and Italian traditions. He was always the optimist, known for his huge smile, infectious laugh, the bright twinkle in his eyes, and his jovial personality. He was the strong center of the family, entertaining everyone from his position at the head of the table. Good food, good wine, and celebrations were his passion. He was an expert wine maker, gardener, sausage/cheese maker, and shopper. His pepper crops were amazing and everyone enjoyed his delicious roasted peppers. He adored and was very proud of his children and grandchildren: his daughter Anna, husband Edward Scahill, grandchildren Michael, Andrea, and Steven; his son Anthony, wife Donna, and grandson Nathan. He cherished all his loved ones: his brother-in-law Donny Stenta, wife Maria, and their children Don, Maryann, Linda, Lisa, and their families; his "cumpare" Pantaleone and Pia Luliani, Luigi, Linda, and Carl Paludi and their families; his cousin Sam and the late Mary Folby and their families; the family of the late Ermelinda DiGirolamo; the special friends who visited in the hospital, Dominic and Adele Belfiglio, Romano and Lea Bucciarelli, Tony and Angie Giammarino; and the many others who extended their friendship over the years. There will be an emptiness at the table, and an emptiness in the hearts of all of us who loved him and whom he loved so deeply. The family would like to thank the staff at both Lourdes Hospital and Willow Point Nursing Home for their care and compassion. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, Monday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
