Burnett, Frances J. (Kilmer) Binghamton: Frances J. (Kilmer) Burnett, age 88, of Binghamton, went to her eternal reward on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 after an extended illness. She was surrounded by her loving children and passed away peacefully. Frances was born in Binghamton, NY on June 20, 1923, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Kilmer. She was one of seven children and was predeceased by her brothers, Walter, Donald and Robert Kilmer; and her sisters, Ellen Fagan and Leona Norton. She is survived by her sister, Betty Lou Seltzer, and her special friend and sister-in-law, Ann Marie Kilmer. Frances was married for 61 wonderful years to her loving husband Robert A. Burnett. Together they raised 11 children. She is survived by her four sons, Michael (Ellen), Timothy (Nancy), Charles (Annette) and William (Minerva) Burnett; also her seven daughters, Linda Fimbres, Kathryn Gardner (Lee Silviera), Patricia (Paul) McDonough, Barbara Eggleston (James), Sarah Behnke (Robert), Susan Metzar (Daniel), and Janet Deuel (John). She was the loving grandmother to 34 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She also has many nieces and nephews. In addition to being a wife and mother, Frances worked for many years as a caregiver to the mentally ill and developmentally disabled both in Binghamton and Orlando, Florida. Her hobbies included playing cards, games, reading, and golf. She was especially proud of her hole in one. Frances was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, and for many years was a member of their Altar Rosary Society. She had many friends and was a loving friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the staff of Bridgewater Nursing Center and especially appreciates Fran's special friend and roommate, Becky Blanchard, who watched over her. Special appreciation also goes to the staff at Binghamton General Hospital Memorial 3 Floor and to Dr. Ramanujan and Dr. Park who provided excellent care in her final days. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, Monday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Frances may be made to Mended Little Hearts of Binghamton, C/O Amanda Root, 101 Palmer Hill Rd., Port Crane, NY 13833.
