Obituary of Thomas J. Sullivan

Sullivan, Thomas J. Binghamton: Thomas J. Sullivan, 89, of Binghamton, died Saturday, April 13, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Genevieve Giblin Sullivan, Binghamton; his children, Mary Casey, Binghamton, Michael and Ann Sullivan, Spartanburg, SC, Thomas Sullivan, Brian and Patty Sullivan, all of Binghamton; his grandchildren, Christopher, Luke, Sean, Joseph, Emily, Christine, Jason; four great-grandchildren; his sisters, Elizabeth Dempsey, Lela and Charles Kresge; several nieces and nephews and the Walter and Kathryn Giblin family. He was a founding member of St. Andrew's Church and currently a member of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton, and a Eucharistic Minister. Tom was a retired Fire Dispatcher for the City of Binghamton and former proprietor of Tom Sullivan Carpet Service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Peter T. Campon Council 206 and the 4th Degree Assembly. He was a life member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #70 and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas E. and Lela Sullivan and his brother, Dr. Richard Sullivan. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Ave., Binghamton, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, MONDAY from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Tom may be made to the Retired Professional Firefighters Cancer Fund, 4 Loretta Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905.
