Obituary of John J Wilczynski

John J. Wilczynski | Visit Guest Book Wilczynski, John J. Vestal: John J. Wilczynski, 81, of Vestal, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 1, 2012. He was predeceased by a son, Brian Wilczynski; and a brother, William Wilczynski. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanne Wilczynski, Vestal; a son, Jerome Wilczynski, Endicott; a daughter, Lisa and Christian Modesti, Fairport; grandchildren, Timothy, Eric, and Michael Modesti, Anthony Wilczynski and Nicholas; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Vestal, a graduate of Notre Dame University, and received a Master's degree from Union College. He was a retired employee of the General Electric Corp, retiring after 41 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, attaining the rank of Lieutenant. John was an avid golfer and an active member of the Genegantslet Lake Assoc. He enjoyed many fond memories of summers on Genegantslet Lake. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Rd., Vestal, Saturday at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of John may be made to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, 165 Clifton Blvd., Vestal, NY 13850.
