Alan J. Smith | Visit Guest Book Smith, Alan J. Binghamton: Alan J. Smith, 52, of Binghamton, went to be with his Lord. He was predeceased by his father, Carl J. Smith. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Aswad Smith, Binghamton; two stepsons, Christopher Casiuk and Melonie Carpenter, Joseph Casiuk, Binghamton; two sisters, Sue Bullock, Utica, Sydney Peterson, CA; a brother, Roger and Dorothy Smith, Binghamton; several nieces and nephews; The Aswad Family who meant so much to him, mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Charles Aswad, Greene; his extended family, the employees of Al Smith Rigging and his best friends "Cola and C.J." Al was proprietor of Al Smith Rigging. He loved to hunt and ride his motorcycle. He was a member of the Vestal Center Motorcycle Club. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chenango Street, Hillcrest on Wednesday at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. The family requests that flowers please be omitted and memorial contributions in memory of Al be made to the Humane Society, 3 Jackson Street, Binghamton, NY 13903 or the NY State Veterans Home, Oxford, NY.
