M. Eleanor (Kane) Taugher | Visit Guest Book Taugher, M. Eleanor Kane Binghamton: M. Eleanor Kane Taugher, 86, of Binghamton, died Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2012. She was the daughter of the late John and Marie Kane and was predeceased by her husband, Robert M. Taugher; her son, Kevin Taugher; and her brothers, Rev. Joseph F. Kane, Rev. John W. Kane, and Robert and Betty Kane. She is survived by her children, Rev. Timothy J. Taugher, Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Hillcrest, Robert and Patrice Taugher, Jr., Ponte Vedra, FL, Karen and Dennis Majewski, Littleton, CO, Eileen and Mike Fitzgerald, Binghamton, Sheila Taugher and Sarah Merrick, Jamesville, Molly and Tom Kane, Binghamton, Susan and Peter Brown, New York City; daughter-in-law, Christine Taugher, Fairfax, VA; 15 grandchildren; her brother, Rev. Msgr. James D. Kane, Binghamton; several nieces and nephews. Eleanor was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, member of the Altar-Rosary Society and Fatima Group. She was a graduate of St. Patrick's Academy and retired from the New York State Workers Compensation Board. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Susquehanna Nursing Home and her friends who loved and supported Eleanor during her illness. A Funeral Mass will be offered by her son and brother at St. Patrick's Church, Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. The family requests that flowers please be omitted and expressions of sympathy in memory of Eleanor be made to Danielle House, 160 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, NY or Catholic Schools of Broome County Tuition Assistance, 17 Adams St., Binghamton, NY 13905.
