Isabella Butler | Visit Guest Book Butler, Isabella A. "Toni" Vestal: Isabella A. Butler, passed away on January 12, 2012 one day after her ninety-ninth birthday. She spent her last years at the Bridgewater Rehabilitation Center. Isabella was predeceased by her husband, Edward C. Butler on November 2, 1965. She is survived by her son, John and his wife Debra, Vestal, NY; her son, Edward and Helen Studer, Genoa, IL. She is also survived by a special niece and nephew, Christine Whalley and Richard Green, both of Schenectady. She leaves behind grandchildren, Marie, Flora and John, who loved her dearly. Isabella was born on January 11, 1911 in Schenectady, NY. Isabella moved to Binghamton with her husband and raised two sons. She later resided in Vestal, NY. Isabella received her teaching degree at Cortland State in physical education. Isabella was a physical education teacher throughout her professional career. She taught at St. John's School in Binghamton, Susquehanna Valley Schools and finally at Liberty Central High School. Isabella was a very devout Catholic and was an active member of St. John's Church in Binghamton and during the past thirty years, Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Vestal. Throughout her lifetime Isabella had several close friends and acquaintances most of whom she became associated with through her church. After several difficult years Isabella is at rest with her Lord in Heaven along with her husband Edward, who she longed to be with again. A Memorial Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 157 Clark St, Vestal, Tuesday at 10 a.m. to celebrate Isabella's life and death. Private burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday from 5-7 p.m.
