He was born March 12, 1990 in Johnson City. He is survived by his mother, Ann E. Fillers, Binghamton, and fianc Tom Serbonich; his father, Thomas R. Fillers and wife Helen, Houston, TX; brothers, Andrew T. Fillers, Jonathan M. Fillers, Michael J. Fillers; half sister, Danelle; step sisters, Amy and Shaun Andrews and their children, Jackson and Tyler, Laura and Callie Serbonich; his grandmothers, Lucille M. Keating, Dayton, OH, Ruth Fillers, Phoenix, AZ; uncles, Michael Keating, Mark Gilliat, Tom Keating, Jerry Keating, John Keating, John Chakos; aunts, Margy Gilliat, Mary Chakos, Marilyn Harness, Ann Keating, Irene Keating, Gayle Keating, Roberta Keating; cousins, Adrian Gilliat, Leslie Gilliat, Brad Keating, Alison Keating, Matt Chakos, Nick, James and Rosie Keating, Jessica Chakos, Christine and Michelle Keating, Haily, Logan and Leah Onysko; lifelong friends, Anthony, Dylan, Mike and Pat. David made many friends and touched many lives during his time with us. David's passion for life always made the people around him happy. He enjoyed spending time snowboarding, bicycling, golfing, and target shooting. David always loved spending time with friends around a bonfire, and setting off the occasional firework. He was a budding engineer. He embraced any opportunity to work on his car, fix things around the house, cook an elaborate meal, or do anything else that allowed him to use his creativity and ingenuity. He was an animal lover, and cared for many pets over the years. He left behind his loyal black lab, Zoe. David made several life-long friends while attending Chenango Valley High School. He loved joking around with his friends, making people smile as he ran around town in his Easter Bunny costume. He was kind and generous to everyone he met. He brought light into the hearts and souls of everyone that knew him. David's spirit will live on forever with his family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent dePaul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery, Hillcrest. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, to honor David's passion for animals, donations may be made to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson St., Binghamton, NY 13903.
