Nina L. Emmons | Visit Guest Book Emmons, Nina L. Binghamton: Nina L. (Moore) Emmons, 87, died peacefully at home December 13. She is survived by four daughters, Sharon (Francis) O'Connor, Great Bend, PA, Patricia (Christopher) McMahon, Front Royal, VA, Pamela (Louis) Skojec, Ashburn, VA, and Ann (Michael) Bagnetto, Binghamton; and four sons, Bill (Jody), Binghamton, Andrew (Jane), Stoughton, MA, Timothy (Lorraine), Binghamton, and Thomas (Jola), New Britain, CT; by 34 grandchildren, 20 (and counting!) great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Beatrice Moore, and by her beloved husband, Bill. Nina was a member of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton. Nina grew up in Glenville, WV, graduated from Glenville State College and received a Master's degree from West Virginia University. She was a teacher in Weston, WV when in 1950 she met and married her true love, Bill Emmons. United in their deep Catholic faith, together they raised eight children and were role models of love and fidelity to all who were blessed to know them. Nina deeply loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one her "favorite." The loss of her husband in 1992 was devastating, but she remained the strong matriarch of the family, wise and supportive. No matter what, we could always count on her unconditional love. We will miss her deeply, but are so happy that she has finally gone home to be with God. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, Saturday at 11:15 a.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, McLean, NY. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Nina may be made to Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
