Obituary of James F. LaVasser

James F. LaVasser | Visit Guest Book LaVasser, James F. Hillcrest: James F. LaVasser, 75, of Hillcrest, died Monday evening, September 26, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Margaret LaVassar. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Janet Murphy LaVasser, Hillcrest; his children, Linda Dean, Binghamton, James LaVasser, Jr., Chenango Bridge; his grandchildren, James and Jenna; two sisters, Barbara and Tony DeMarchins, Buffalo, Pat and Erwin Class, Idaho; two brothers, Donald and Marie LaVassar, SC, Paul and Pam LaVassar, Binghamton; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, Binghamton. Jim was a retired 27 year employee of the IBM Corporation; a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Joseph P. Mangan American Legion Post 1194. Jim enjoyed working on cars and working on his lawn. The family would like to thank Dr.'s Steven and Lisa Hassig for all their care and compassion. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Paul's Church, Binghamton, Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
