Duffy, Betty J. Binghamton: Betty J. Duffy, 77, of Binghamton, died peacefully Friday, September 16, 2011 at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mary Murphy; her sister, Elaine LeStrange; and a niece, Linda LeStrange. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Duffy; her children, Maury Duffy, Hartford, CT, Timothy Duffy, Bear, DE, Sean and Lisa Duffy, Nashua, NH, Kevin and Peggy Duffy, Germantown, MD, Mike and Chris Duffy, Cicero, Erin Duffy and Diana Tucci, Damascus, MD; 11 grandchildren; her sister, Carol Murphy, Hillcrest; her brother, Raymond Murphy, Vestal; sisters-in-law, Alice Murphy and Rita J. Hawkes; several nieces and nephews, including Reverend Gregory C. LeStrange. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Vestal. Betty was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School and Charles S. Wilson School of Nursing in 1955. Betty will be remembered as a kind and gentle woman who was loved by everyone who knew her. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Clubhouse Rd., Vestal, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Betty may be made to Flood Victims Assistance, c/o Catholic Charities of Broome County, 232 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905.
