Obituary of Jerry M. Lombardi

Visit Guest Book Lombardi, Jerry M. Binghamton: Jerry M. Lombardi, 88, of Binghamton, went to his Almighty God in Heaven on Monday, August 15, 2011, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Margaret (Peg) Lombardi; and his parents, Gennarino and Anna Lombardi. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and John (Jay) O'Hare, Beltsville, MD and Virginia and DJ Lane, Binghamton; and a son, Jerry Lombardi Jr. and his partner Michael Fiur of NYC. Jerry had six grandchildren of which he was equally proud: Patrick, Matthew and Laura O'Hare and Stephanie, Betsy and DJ (IV) Lane. Jerry is survived by an extensive group of wonderful friends both in and out of the Binghamton area. Jerry was a graduate of Binghamton North High School and proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from IBM Owego after over 35 years and was a proud member of IBM's Quarter Century Club. Jerry was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Binghamton. He was also active in UNICO International and the American Legion Post 1227. He spent many enjoyable Augusts at the beach in Stone Harbor, NJ and winters golfing in both Florida and Hilton Head, SC. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Wilson Hospital ICU for their compassionate care. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 46 Oak Street, Binghamton, NY 13905.
