Svoboda, James M. Sr. Chenango Bridge: James M. Svoboda Sr., 69, of Chenango Bridge, died Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ann Svoboda; and his brothers, Ronald Svoboda Sr. and Frank Svoboda Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marguerite Gregoire Svoboda; his children, James Svoboda Jr. and Bernie Glas, Denise and Sean Lovelace; grandchildren, James III "Trey", Avery, Aden, Kennedy; several nieces, nephews, and a large, loving extended family. He was the retired proprietor of Triple Cities Floor Covering and was currently employed at Warehouse Carpet Outlets. He was a veteran of the US Army. Jim was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, businessman, and coworker, known for his hard work, dedication, attention to detail, and unique sense of humor. Jim grew up in his family's floor covering business and was a proud businessman with over 55 years of experience, taking care of his customers. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Reverend Monsignor John P. Putano will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Friday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jim may be made to Lourdes Hospital Foundation, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905.
