Farrell, Lillian Sigler
Binghamton: Lillian Sigler Farrell of Binghamton, 83, passed away at her home on February 16, 2011, peacefully into the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ with her daughters by her side after a short illness. Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Donald in 2005; parents, Joseph and Mary Sigler; brothers, Rudy Sigler and Andrew Dribnak. She is survived by the loves of her life, her six children, Sandy and Brad Nemcek, Endicott, Dr. Don and Dr. Cheryl Vermette-Farrell, Winslow, ME, Richard Farrell, Honolulu, HI, Brian Farrell, Sidney Center, Mary K. and Erik Jensen, Binghamton, Greg and Donna Farrell, Woodland, CA. Lillian was blessed with nine grandchildren who she was very proud of and loved very much, Laura and Brian Harding, Jenna and Sean Nemcek, Nicole, Matthew and Emily Farrell, Paul, Keith and Erika Jensen. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Irene Sigler; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Olga Sigler; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Jim and Dee Farrell; sister-in-law, MaryLou Farrell and Judy Farrell; and many nieces and nephews. Lillian, in her younger years, was an executive secretary in both Washington, DC and Texas. Lillian and Don moved back to Binghamton to raise their family. Lil then joined her husband Don, helping to run Farrell Dental Laboratory for 51 years as a bookkeeper and assistant until she retired. Mom was very devoted to the Blessed Mother, saying the Rosary daily. Lillian was a faithful parishioner of St. Patrick's for the past 58 years. Mom enjoyed spending time with her children, playing a "competitive" game of cards, and "only if you let me win". Flowers, her garden, and many roses and perennials were a source of pride and enjoyment her whole life. The "stock" in Wegman's Pecan Praline ice cream just went down! Some of our fondest memories were the times spent at the Jersey Shore on Long Beach Island. Lil was a die-hard Yankees fan, also enjoying golf and tennis and always rooting for her favorite players. A special thank you to Lillian's caregivers, JoAnne, Gail, Sue, Ramona, Wanda, Katie and Cheryl. You all made her time at home special and a comfort to her and our family. Mom was the "glue" that held our family together. She passed on her love of God, her traditions and values to us all. Her parting words to us all were "tell everyone I love them, hugs and kisses". A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Lillian - please consider a donation to support children with hearing loss.
