Obituary of Marion K. Hickey

Marion K. Giblin Hickey, 85, of Binghamton, died Tuesday afternoon, January 4, 2005, at the Susquehanna Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Kathryn Giblin; and her brother, Barney Giblin. Marion is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Joseph W. Hickey, Binghamton; her children, Thomas and Ellen Hickey, Binghamton, Ann and Gary Crandell, Johnson City, John and Sue Hickey, Weymouth, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Patrick, Kevin and Karen Hickey, Tracie, Jennifer, Katie (Denny) Burkholder, Mitchell and Peter Hickey; her brother, Rev. Msgr. L. Eugene Giblin, Binghamton; a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Giblin, Binghamton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marion was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton; member of the Altar Rosary Society; Fatima Group and Bridge Club. The family would like to thank the staff of Susquehanna Nursing Center (3rd floor) for the compassionate care and concern shown Marion. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday at 9:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered by her brother. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Marion may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy Street, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
