Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary A. Gacioch, 86, of Binghamton and Skaneateles, New York, left us Monday, June 7, 2004, with the same gentle grace and dignity with which she lived. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anna Maldaekas; her husband, Stanley J. Gacioch; and a sister, Julia Jastrab. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and George T. Yanchak, Jr., Endwell; a son, Thomas J. Gacioch, Binghamton; and a son and daughter-in-law, James C. and Margaret Quinn Gacioch, Binghamton; seven grandchildren; Jon Gacioch, New York City, Krystin McGuire, Raleigh, N.C.; Lori J. Rampulla, Lauren E. Yenchak and her fiance, Matthew Peone, all of Rochester; Adrian J. Yenchak, Boston, Mass.; David Quinn Gacioch and Brian Quinn Gacioch, both of Ithaca; two great-grandchildren, Jade Ryan Rampulla or Rochester and Maggie McGuire of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Josephine Barvainas of Baltimore, Md.; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces and cousins. Mary was a communicant at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Binghamton, and a member of its Sodality and Sewing Club. Mary was a wonderful mother, doting grandmother and dear friend to all. She had a warm smile for everyone, which communicated much more than she could say. Mary knew well what family meant, and passed this on to her children and grandchildren. She was beloved by her family and friends, who will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered by Mary's cousin, Rev. Edward Zandy. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday from 6-8 p.m. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Mary be made to Catholic Charities of Broome County, 232 Main Street, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905 or Broome Volunteer Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 599, Binghamton, N.Y. 13902.
