Obituary of Mary C. Lannon

Mary C. Dalton Lannon, 96, of Binghamton, passed away Sunday morning, May 9, 2004 at Elizabeth Church Manor. She was born on February 17, 1908 in Pleasent Mt., Pa., to Daniel and Teresa Meagher Dalton. She was predeceased by her husband, Ambrose Lannon in 1988; and her sisters, Anastasia Gacioch, Margaret Soos, Helen Dalton and Teresa Dalton. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Bob Ford, Marilyn and Tom Phalen, all of Binghamton; five grandchildren, Kevin and Kelly Ford, Bridget and Paul Derr, all of Binghamton, Dr. Brendon Phalen, New York City, Colin and Audra Phalen, Chantilly, Va., Darren Phalen, Boston, Mass.; two great-grandchildren, Megan Kathleen Derr and Connor Lannon Ford; several nieces and nephews, especially her devoted nephew, John Lannon. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton. Mary was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Scranton, Pa., Class of 1932. She retired from nursing after many years of service at Lourdes Hospital. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mary may be made to Broome County Catholic Schools Tuition Assistance, 144 Clinton St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905, or Catholic Charities of Broome County Food Pantry, 232 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
