Francis A. Di Lascia of Johnson City passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, December 23, 2003. He was born on the 4th of February, 1934. He was predeceased by his father, Noble; and a brother, Louie. He is survived by his wife, Helen Di Lascia, Johnson City; his mother, Henrietta Di Lascia, Binghamton; his children, Jack Di Lascia, Binghamton, Linda and Dennis Strellner, Maria and Mark Carpenter, Augusta, Ga., Pat Ridley, Ron, Greg, Linda, Edward, and Penny Hrostowski and Theresa Haines, all of Johnson City; grandchildren, Christina and Tiffany Strellner, Bradleigh Carpenter, April Hrostowski, Danielle and Ricky Haines, Thomas, Michael, and Arthur Hrostowski; a sister, Gloria and Earl Allen, Binghamton; a brother, Alfredo Di Lascia, Chicopee, Mass.; his dear aunt, Viola Lyons; his special cousin, Frankie and Laura Mae Tiesi, Binghamton; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Johnson City. Fran proudly served in the United States Army and was a retired but still registered pharmacist in the Binghamton area. Fran loved life and approached everything with a cheerful smile and generous spirit. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends. Fran was an avid amateur photographer. It was a rarity to see him without a camera in hand. The family would like to thank the Cardiac Rehab staff at Lourdes Hospital for their kindness and loving care. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Fran may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 13 Cenacle Plaza, Johnson City, N.Y. 13790.
