James Patrick Crogan, 85, of Binghamton, died Wednesday morning, October 1, 2003, going to join the Lord and Rose, the love of his life, for 57 years. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law, Robert DeGroat. Jim is survived by his children, Rose Mary DeGroat, Vestal, Marge and Stan Maciolek, Endicott, Jo Ann and Nick Morlando, Charlotte, N.C., Kay and Joe Tiesi, Chenango Bridge, Pat and Mike Kritkausky, Binghamton, Jamie and Rich Jones, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mary White, Johnson City; his grandchildren, Maureen Kamide, Mike and Mary DeGroat, Debbie Bryant, Dominica Clemente, Dominic and Anthony Morlando, Joseph and James Tiesi, Kristina Lewis, Kathryn Marshal, Patrick, Jenny and Chris Jones, Lindsey White; and 17 great-grandchildren. Jim was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, where he was a eucharistic minister and served Funeral Masses and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters local 112, a member of the Johnson City Knights of Columbus Council #2953 and the Fourth Degree Assembly, and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m., and at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jim may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York, Suite 900, Mony Tower II, 120 Madison St., Syracuse, N.Y. 13202.
