Obituary of Rachel Capalaces

Rachel Fiato Capalaces, 87, of Binghamton, died Thursday morning, September 25, 2003, at Binghamton General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Capalaces; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ray Breehey, Binghamton; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Pricilla Capalaces, Boston, Mass.; two grandchildren, Rachel and Kevin Mollen, Abraham and Sonya Breehey; a great-granddaughter, Julia Agnes Mollen; a sister, Libby Pawleshyn, Calif.; special family friend, Dr. Hisham and Cholly Kashou and family; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Binghamton, and a retired hairdresser. Rachel's greatest joy was making special Italian dinners for her family. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Monday at 11:30 a.m., and at 12 noon at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Rachel may be made to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, c/o St. John's Rectory, 1263 Vestal Ave., Binghamton, N.Y. 13903.
