Obituary of Joseph G. Fell Sr.

Joseph G. Fell Sr., 68, of Johnson City, died Tuesday afternoon, September 23, 2003, at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Madelyn Fell; a brother, James Fell; and sister, Joan. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Jo Ellen Fell, Binghamton; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Paul Ferenchak, Syracuse; grandchildren, Christian, Sloane and Moya; a sister, Myrna Sullivan, Greene; very dear friend, Kathryn Cronin; former wife and friend, Patricia Fell; and several nieces, nephews and many friends; and his cat "Sammy". He was a retired 40 year employee of Security Mutual Life Insurance Co. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, past chairman of the St. Patrick's Day Parade, past A.O.H. Division and State Officer, coach for women's softball for Security Mutual and Ladies A.O.H., member of the Knights of Columbus, Johnson City Council #2953, and a member of the American Legion Post 758. Joseph was a US Army veteran, nd a member of Sandy Pond Sportsman's Club and Pulaski American Legion. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, the Boston Red Sox, and Notre Dame Football. A memorial service will be held at J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Gerald J. Buckley will officiate. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Expressions of sympathy in memory of Joe may be made to the A.O.H. Building Fund, 148 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
