Obituary of Paul J. Giblin

Paul Joseph Giblin, 81, of Binghamton, died Thursday afternoon, September 18, 2003. He was the eldest son of the late Walter and Kathryn Ward Giblin. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ward Giblin and Robert Giblin; brother-in-law, Burt Chamberlain; sisters-in-law, Helen Giblin and Bonnie Giblin. He is survived by five sisters and brothers-in-law, Genevieve and Tom Sullivan, Edna and Grant Sullivan, Ruth Chamberlain, Maureen and Ed Bradley, Kay and Jim Lynch; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Mary Ann Giblin, Kenneth and Hazel Giblin, Jack and Mary Giblin, Raymond and Colleen Giblin; sister-in-law, Bette Giblin; two aunts, Celia Casey and Mary Murphy; 50 nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; and 66 great nieces and nephews; many cousins, including Rev. Msgr. Lawrence E. Giblin; and many friends. Paul was a member of St. Augustine's Church, Silver Lake, Pa., a retired member of the Binghamton Police Department, with 25 years of service, a Navy Air Corps veteran of WWII. Paul was an avid Yankees fan, loved Quaker Lake, and was very proud of his family heritage and enjoyed aviation. "We love you, PG-42!" Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Monday at 9 a.m., and at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, Pa. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Paul may be made to St. Augustine's Church Handicap Ramp Fund, Box 1402, Friendsville, Pa. 18818-9786.
