Obituary of Jean A. Malone

Jean Chesnick Malone, 86, of Endwell, formerly of Binghamton, died Tuesday afternoon, July 15, 2003 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Mary Chesnick; and her brothers and sisters, Edward, Josephine, Stanley, Anthony, Amelia and Bernard. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edward J. Malone, Endwell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Thomas Krissel, Rochester, Patricia and Edward Whirty, Raleigh, N.C., Marleen and Bernard "Butch" Bliznik, Endwell; her grandchildren, Jeanne Krissel, Joseph Krissel, Kelly and Thomas Flanagan, Ryan Whirty, Nathan and Christina Whirty, Anthony Bliznik, Alison Blinik; sisters, Veronica Syryca, Johnson City, Mary and Edward DeBevec, Pauline and Joseph Nadzak, all of Forest City, Pa.; brothers, Matthew and Mary Chesnick, Uniondale, Pa., Francis and June Chesnick, Utica, Alphonse and Joy Anne Chesnick, Kearny, N.J., Benedict and Nancy Chesnick, Callicoon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, and the Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the American Legion Post 1645 Auxiliary, and the Elks #852 Auxiliary. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her three daughters were her "jewels". She had a special place in her heart for her daughter, Marleen, her "best nurse". Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 main St., Binghamton, Friday at 8:30 a.m., and at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jean may be made to the American Heart Association, 59 Court St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
