Obituary of Verda Arlene Kane

V. Arlene Kane, 69, of Binghamton died Sunday morning, July 13, 2003 at her home. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Blanche Stacey. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James F. Kane, Binghamton; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Timothy McGovern, Endicott; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Deborah Kane, Cary, N.C.; five grandchildren, Sean, Ryan and Kathleen McGovern, Michael and Nicole Kane; a sister, Lewella Valentine, Whitney Point; several nieces and nephews. Arlene was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, member of the Liturgy Committee, Pre-Cana Committee and Funeral Luncheon Committee. She was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division I. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Wednesday at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Arlene may be made to St. Mary's Church Refurbishment Fund, 37 Fayette St., Binghamton, NY 13902 or A.O.H. Building Fund, 148 Main St., Binghamton, NY 13905.
