Obituary of John C. Tamulis
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jack
died suddenly February 17, 2003 and was pronounced at Our Lady of Lourdes
Hospital. His parents, John P. and Ann Tamulis predeceased him; as well as his
brother-in-law, Francis Schuler. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34
years, Shirley Seaman Tamulis; his sister, Anne Marie Schuler, Wilkes-Barre,
Pa.; his mother-in-law, Sophie M. Seaman; and her sister, Adeline Roybal; and
three nephews. He leaves behind our special poodle, Hershel, and four fun cats.
He was a devoted member of St. Ann's Church, Binghamton. Jack graduated from
Wyoming Seminary, received his BS from Lehigh University, MS from MIT and his
Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State. For over three decades, he
enjoyed his career at IBM Corporation and as he said he would, retired to the
YMCA where he spent many happy hours with the "Boy's". He was
currently president of the Oteyokwa Lake Club, past YMCA board member, past
president of Comos and a member of Bridge Groups at the Binghamton Club. Jack
will be remembered as a kind, gentle and loving man. Words cannot express how
much he will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at
the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday at 11:30
a.m., and at 12 noon at St. Ann's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered
by Jack's dear friend, Rev. William C. Esposito. Burial will be in Holy Spirit
Cemetery, Kattelville. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral
Home Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in
memory of Jack may be made to the Binghamton YMCA, 61 Susquehanna St.,
Binghamton, N.Y. 13901, or Lourdes Hospital Foundation, 169 Riverside Dr.,
Binghamton, N.Y. 13905. "Grief is the price we pay for love!"
