Carmella "Kay" Zimarino Gustaferro, 81, of Binghamton, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 19, 2003 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Angelo Zimarino. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles J. Gustaferro, Binghamton; her children, Linda Cvik, Apalachin, Lou and Judy Gustaferro, Goose Creek, S.C., Kathy and Terry Telfer, Angela and Bill Guiton, Joseph Gustaferro, all of Binghamton; her grandchildren, Catherine and Ben Lanchi, Angela and Kerry Wilson, Terry, Tim, Tom and Marty Telfer, Suzie, Julie, Patrick and Katie Guiton, Lisa and Mike Mancini and his daughter Sierra; her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Anthony Scafetta, Batavia; several nieces and nephews, Dennis and Nancy Scafetta and their children Andrew and Eric, Angela Fabio and her children Shannon and Johnathan Smith, Nicholas and Shelly Scafetta and special friends Annie Ragard, Larry and Josie Patch. Kay was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Binghamton and Women of Abruzzee. She graduated from Batavia High School, Class of 1939 and Roberts Beauty School, Buffalo, and was a beautician and accomplished seamstress. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Wednesday at 9 a.m., and at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Kay may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 5, Johnson City, N.Y. 13790.
