Obituary of Harrison E. Ludy

Harrison E. Ludy, 81, of Vestal, died Monday morning, December 23, 2002 at Good Shepherd-Fairview Home. He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris Ludy; and a brother, Stuart Ludy. He is survived by his caring wife, Shirley Ludy, Vestal; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Maryanne, Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Dean Ludy, Horseheads; sisters, Audrey and Steve Acton, Horseheads, Marcia and Ralph Chapman, Chiefland, Fla.; sister-in-law, Marjorie Ludy, Binghamton; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Teri De Santo and Richard Steele. He was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church, Binghamton. Harrison was a retired Merchandise Manager for Philadelphia Sales Co., where he worked for over 40 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran of WWII, where he was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Binghamton Elks B.P.O.E. #852, a member of Binghamton Lions Club, VFW Post 478, American Legion Post 80, Marine Corps League and sang with the First Ward Chorus. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Monday, at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Timothy R. Bennett, his pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Harrison may be made to the Main St., Baptist Church, 117 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905, or the Alzheimers Association of the Southern Tier, 1406 Monroe St., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
