Rita J. Hickey Obituary

Rita J. Hickey, 84, of Binghamton,

died Wednesday morning, October 25, 2000, at the Susquehanna Nursing Center.

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Donald R. Hickey in 1993; her

parents, Michael and Mary Legos; and a sister, Nancy Dalton. She is survived by

three daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Michael Pleninger, Williamsberg,

Va., Maureen and Leo Johnson, Baldwinsville, Melinda and Robert Maguire,

Roswell, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Jane McDonough,

Binghamton; several nieces and nephews; a very dear friend, Frances Berti. Rita

was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, for over 60 years, where

she taught C.C.D. and volunteered in the cafeteria at St. Thomas Aquinas

School. In recent years, she attended St. James Church, Johnson City. She was

retired from Home Mutual Insurance Co. and volunteered at the Susquehanna

Nursing Center.






A Funeral Mass will be offered at St.

Thomas Aquinas Church, Saturday at 12 noon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery,

Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons

Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
