Obituary of Irene T. O´Neil

Irene T. (Walsh) O'Neil, 94, of Johnson City, peacefully fell asleep in the arms of the Lord on Thursday, July 26, 2001. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Susan Walsh; several brothers and sisters; her beloved husband, William G. O'Neil; her loving daughter, Suzanne I. Craig; daughter-in-law, Faye O'Neil; and great-grandson, Scott R. Craig. She is survived by her loving family, sons and daughter-in-law, Edward F. O'Neil, William J. and June O'Neil, all of Endicott, David J. O'Neil, Johnson City; daughter and son-in-law, Mary T. and Walton E. Burdick, Bedford Corners; son-in-law, Robert E. Craig, Binghamton; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many dear and special friends. Irene was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Johnson City and a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who built her life on her never ending faith in God and was a friend to all and was always a pleasure to be with. Special thanks to her loving care givers, Diana, Bridget, Jo-Anne and all her wonderful friends and neighbors. She was employed for many years at Goodman's and Resnick's Dress Shops. The best things in life are the people we've loved, the places we've been and the memories we've shared along the way! Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Irene may be made to Meals-on-Wheels of Western Broome, 705 W. Main St., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
