Donald Edward Farrell, of Binghamton, went to see the Lord on January 17, 2005. He was born on July 19, 1928. His wife of 53 years, Lillian (Sigler) was at his side. He is survived by six children, Sandy and Brad Nemcek, Endicott, Dr. Donald and Dr. Cheryl Vermette, Winslow, Maine, MaryKay and Erik Jensen, Binghamton, Richard Farrell, Hawaii, Greg Farrell and his fiancee, Donna Bento, California, and Brian Farrell, Hancock; his nine grandchildren who he loved very much, Laura, Jenna, Sean Nemcek, Nicole, Matthew, and Emily Farrell, Paul, Keith, and Erika Jensen; his brothers, Dr. James and Dee Farrell, Vestal, Dr. Robert and Mary Lou Farrell, Ponte Vedra, Florida; brothers-in-law, Rudy and Irene Sigler, Andrew and Betty Dribnak, Florida, Bob and Olga Sigler, Binghamton; many nieces and nephews; special Goddaughter, Michelle Pena; and special nephew, Dr. Scott Farrell. He was predeceased by his brothers, Dr. John Farrell and Thomas Farrell; his parents, Dr. John H. and Irma (McTighe) Farrell. Don attended St. Bonaventure University and graduated from Kings College. He was the owner of Farrell Dental Laboratory for 51 years. Dad took great pride in his workmanship. Don made many friends in the dental community. He was a member and past commander (1987) of Binghamton Post 80. Don was a WWII veteran and served his time at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C. He was a member of the Broome County relief for WWI veterans. Dad loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and vacationing at Long Beach Island. Dad was also past president of Mountain Trail Archery Club. He had great friends in Carl Ondrejko, Derwood Mason, and Stan Progy, and the people at the farm. Also, Jimmy, Bill and Paul Farrell and their "lunch club." A great love of Dad's was playing Pinochle and solitaire with his family. Don was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. Dad was a man of great faith. Don had a lot of fun with his children and grandchildren and will always be remembered for his jokes. He loved to make people laugh. "I got a new one for you..." Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Don may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy Street, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
