Obituary of Catherine P. Cooney

Catherine H. (Petty) Cooney, 85, of Binghamton, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 26, 2000 on the occasion of her 61st wedding anniversary at the Willow Point Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Petty; her husband, M. John Cooney; and her sisters, Jean M. Foltyn and Elizabeth M. Toth. She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Mary C. Cooney, Binghamton; Nancy J. Wright, Fall River, Ma.; Rita E. and John A. Clark, Binghamton; Janet M. Rose, Brooklyn Park, Minn., Diane T. and Ronald Le Claire, Damascus; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who were her joy; two sisters, Theresa Murray and Christine Babcock; 13 nieces and nephews. Catherine was a lifelong member of St. Pauls Church, Binghamton and was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and at 11 a.m. at St. Pauls Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Catherine may be made to the Willow Point Nursing Home Entertainment Fund, 3700 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, NY 13850
