Obituary of Dorothy A. Thomas

Dorothy Lake Thomas, 77, of Binghamton, died Sunday afternoon, May 2, 2004, at her home. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, William F. Thomas, Sr.; her parents, and several brothers and sister. She is survived by her five sons and daughters-in-law, William F. and Melita Thomas, Pflugerville, Tex., Daniel L. and Marie Thomas, Binghamton, Douglas M. Thomas, Binghamton, Christopher M. and Theresa Thomas, Orlando, Fla., Gregory and Kimberly Thomas, Johnson City; ten grandchildren, Sandi, Brian, Brett, Marisa, Lisa, Lori, Susan Thomas, Makenzie Eagle, Kristen, Michelene Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Thomas, Logan Eagle; her faithful caregiver, Pam Cook; her special companion, "Brewster." Dorothy was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, and a member of the Binghamton Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. The family wishes to acknowledge April Snyder and Mary Guilfoyle for their special care and support as well as other Hospice volunteers and aides. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Hospice Program, c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
