Obituary of Harold E. Brown

Dr. Harold E. Brown, 80, of Binghamton, died Saturday morning, December 16, 2000 at his home after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Mangan Brown and grandchildren, Darby Brown and Adam Raccino. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Ann Brown, Binghamton; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Cathy Brown, Binghamton; step-brothers, Thomas Brown and Richard Brown; sister-in-law, Barbara Mangan, Johnson City; several nieces and nephews and his beloved "Kerrigan". Dr. Brown was a member of St. Christopher's Church, Hinman's Corners; graduate of University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry and practiced dentistry in Binghamton for over 40 years; and was a member of the Broome County Dental Society. He was a distinguished Navy pilot during WWII serving in the Pacific and was the recipient of numerous medals for distinguished service and flew the Victory Bond Tour. He was a member of American Legion Post 1645; was n avid golfer and traveled extensively, especially to Ireland. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dr. Brown may be made to the Hospice Program c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
