Obituary of Gertrude Bateman

Gertrude Bateman, 62, of Endwell, passed away Wednesday evening, December 27, 2000 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Nevia Costa. She is survived by her husband, Edward C. Bateman, Endwell; her sister and brother-in-law, Jo and Maurice Pessagno, Vestal; her niece and husband, Donna and John Choquette, Vestal; her nephew, David Pessagno and his children, Taylor and Bo Pessagno; stepdaughter and husband, Debra and Michael Sissenstein, Endicott; stepson and his wife, David and Moira Bateman, Va.; grandchildren, Stefan, Leslie and Lauren Sissenstein, Micheila, Kathryn and Colleen Bateman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Gert was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Endicott, retired 36 year employee of the IBM Corporation and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. She was currently employed at Fabulous Finds in Endwell. Gert was a very loving and caring person and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 8:45 a.m., and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Endicott, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Gertrude may be made to St. Joseph's Church Building Fund, 207 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
