Mary Kelly O'Rourke, of Binghamton, died Sunday morning, January 18, 2004, at her home, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Mary McDonald Kelly. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, John "Jack" O'Rourke; her children, John and Kathy O'Rourke, Patricia and Mike King, Tim and Roseanne O'Rourke, Ann and Mark Saroka; 11 beloved grandchildren, Sean, Katie and Tommy O'Rourke, Ryan and Bridget King, Molly, Tiernan and Aidan O'Rourke, Kelly, Patrick and Danny Saroka; eight nieces, nephews and their families. Mary was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mary was born in Waterbury, Conn., and graduated from the College of St. Elizabeth, Morristown (Convent Station), N.J. She was a Social Worker at Catholic Family Service, Waterbury, Conn., prior to her marriage. She worked in the Town of Union Child Welfare Dept., and was the volunteer director at Lourdes Hospital for 15 years, prior to her retirement in 1991. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m., at St. Patrick's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury, Conn. on Thursday. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Mary may be made to the Hospice Program, c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905, or St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
