Obituary of Edward P. Ellis

Edward P. Ellis, 83, of Binghamton, died Wednesday morning, July 30, 2003 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Nassif and Azzie Ellis; his brothers, Nelson P. Ellis and Philip E. Ellis; his sisters, Josephine Watkins, Mary Ellis, Victoria Thomas and Jean Ellis. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret L. Ellis, with whom he resided, Ardell Bretzin, Fla., Sally Feldsott, Binghamton; and several nieces and nephews. Ed was a member of St. Paul's Church, Binghamton. He was co-founder of Phil's Gift Shop in Binghamton since 1939, which has become one of the most renowned gift shops in the northeast. He was a Coast Guard veteran of WWII. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 9 a.m., and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ed may be made to St. Paul's Church, 15 Doubleday St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
