Obituary of Gertrude S. Foley

Gertrude S. Foley of Binghamton went to join our Lord and her husband, "Hugger" on Saturday afternoon, July 19, 2003. She was the daughter of Robert and Helen Stephenson and was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, James T. Foley. Gert is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, James R. and Mary S. Foley, Vestal, Kevin T. Foley, Binghamton; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anne and Malvern Harpell, Kissimmee, FL; her granddaughters, Lannon Elizabeth Foley, Katherine Candis Foley, and Margaret Cora Foley. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, and a member of the Fatima Club. Gert worked for 34 years with the Binghamton Police Department, where she made many lifelong friends. In recent years, she was secretary to the Police Chief. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton on Wednesday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Gert may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy St., Binghamton, NY 13905.
