Obituary of Germaine S. Croteau

Germaine S. Croteau, 98, of Owego, died Friday evening, July 18, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Lorenzo Croteau; her son, Lawrence Croteau; and her daughter, Jeanette. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Paul Croteau, Newark Valley, Leo and Barbara Croteau, Endwell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pauline and Frank Ver Valin, Owego, Claire and Bernard Griffin, Binghamton, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Croteau, Johnson City; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Maurice Gagnon; three sisters, Henrietta Beaudoin, Julliette Ploudre, of Berlin, N.H.; and Sister St. Louis Marie, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. She and her husband owned and operated The Cottage Bake Shop in Vestal for many years. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street Binghamton, Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Berlin, N.H. on Thursday. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Croteau may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 157 Clark Street, Vestal, N.Y. 13850.
