Obituary of Ruth E. Roberts

Ruth E. Terry Roberts, 73, of Vestal, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at her home on Saturday evening, April 19, 2003, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Eleanor and Harry Terry and the sister of the late Jeane Fiske. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John L. Roberts, Vestal; her children, John and Connie Roberts, Nev., Susan and Richard Hogan, Vestal, David Roberts and Paula Kilb, Port Crane, Gail Anne and Brian Cappellett, Endicott, Michael and Becky Roberts, Vestal; her cherished grandchildren, Andrea and David Mazzini, Katie, Emily and Joseph Hogan, Eric, Brian and Timothy Roberts, Jessica Pelham, Bradley Roberts, Christopher Roberts; three great grandchildren; her brother, James and Barbara Terry, Horseheads; a sister, Marion Cline, Apalachin; several special nieces and nephews and her loving cat "Vinnie." Ruth was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton and proud to be the first female usher to serve her parish. She loved to travel, spend time with friends and be with her family. She was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School and Triple Cities School of Beauty Culture. She will be remembered fondly as an Avon Lady of 27 years. Ruth will be remembered as a wonderful mother, a favorite grandmother and a loving wife, who will be so greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where a funeral mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ruth may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1 Aquinas Street, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
