Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Ball

Elizabeth Corby Ball, 92, of Binghamton, died Tuesday evening, March 11, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Alton E. Ball; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Jane Corby; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nan and Robert Sturdevant. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Earl Travis, Apalachin, Martha and Edward Peterson, Vestal; six grandchildren, David and Julie Travis, Carlisle, Pa., Robert Travis, Johnson City, Steven and Haylee Travis, Houston, Tex., Edward and Louise Nezelek, Charlotte, N.C., Lance and Teresa Nezelek, Newark Valley, Karin Peterson Winiarski and Douglas Winiarski, Richmond, Va.; six great-grandchildren, Joshua Nezelek, Joseph Nezelek, Andrew Travis, Grant Travis, Justin Travis, Nathan Travis; a nephew, James and Patricia Corby; five nieces, Jennifer Keene, Frances and Patrick Kearse, Hollis and Howard Sprague, Linda and John Feldman, Miss Amy Sturdevant. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. Mrs. Ball graduated from Syracuse University, Class of 1933, and was a member of the American Associates of University Women. She was a supervisor in the Broome County Social Services Department, retiring in 1976. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Sts., Binghamton Saturday, at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Elizabeth may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905. Arrangements are by the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton.
