Edwin

A. Faughnan, 79, of Binghamton, died Wednesday morning, January 8, 2003, at

home surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph

and Leona Faughnan; and his brothers, Eugene, John and Charles Faughnan. He is

survived by his wife of 54 years, Hazel Faughnan, Binghamton; his children,

Mary and Robert Southern, Oneonta, Polly and Tom Dillon, Binghamton, Joseph and

Joyce Faughnan, Oakdale, Minn., Janice and Jeff Canniff, N. Syracuse, Lucy

Snyder, Johnson City, Maureen Faughnan, Binghamton, Jim and Genie Faughnan,

Unadilla, Catherine Faughnan, Newburgh, Thomas Faughnan, Binghamton, Linda and

Jeff Fravala, Green Cove Springs, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; a sister, Doris and

Dave Wheat, Deltona, Fla.; a brother, Richard and Elizabeth Faughnan,

Binghamton; sister-in-law, Carol Faughnan, Binghamton; mother-in-law, Ruth

Fike; brother-in-law, Giles and Linda Fike; several nieces and nephews. He was

a member of St. John The Evengelist Chruch, Binghamton, The Holy Name Society,

Golden Agers and a Eucharistic Minister. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a

recipient of the Purple Heart, member of American Legion Post 758 and D.A.V. Ed

was a retired Fire Chief for the Binghamton Fire Department, retiring in 1985

after 37 years of faithful service.


A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. John The Evangelist Church Friday, at

9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, Pa. in the

spring. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral

Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Expressions of

sympathy in memory of Ed may be made to Parker Hughes Cancer Center, 2848

Patton Rd., Roseville, Minn. 55113.
