Griffith, 90, of Binghamton, passed away at Susquehanna Nursing Home in Johnson

City on December 22, 2002. She was born in Whitney Point, N.Y., the daughter of

Francis H. and Josephine S. Bushnell. She was predeceased by her husband, Rear

Admiral Thomas Richards Griffith. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie

Griffith; and her sons, Charles Griffith and Robert Griffith. She married

Thomas Griffith on May 3, 1940. She was a loving mother, businesswoman and

housekeeper. She was a member of the Retired Officer's Association. She

belonged to the Binghamton Country Club and was an avid golfer. She supported

numerous charitable organizations.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, 44 Main

St., Binghamton, Saturday, at 11 a.m. Rev. Noreen P. Suriner, Rector, will

officiate. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. The

family will receive friends in the Hoyt Room Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m. In

lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the United

States Memorial Foundation, 701 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Suite 123, Washington,

D.C. 20004-2608. Arrangements are by J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main

St., Binghamton.
