Connor, Robert F. Binghamton: Robert F. Connor, 82, of Binghamton, died peacefully Tuesday evening, January 15, 2013, at his home after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean O'Donoghue Connor. He is survived by Christine Grace; his daughters, Kate Jones, Sagamore Beach, MA, Christine and Charles McLeod, Cornelius, NC; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Joan Sullivan, Lexington, MA; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. Bob was a graduate of Boston College, Class of 1956, and a US Navy Veteran. He retired after 32 years of employment at the IBM Corporation and also retired from Hinman, Howard & Kattell. He was a member of the Friends of Seton Catholic Central High School, volunteered at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen, and was former President of the Board at the Samaritan House. Bob was an avid swimmer and a 30 year member of Binghamton University Masters Swim Team. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington, MA, at a later date. The family will receive friends at St. Patrick's Church Monday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Bob may be made to Friends of Seton, 70 Seminary Ave., Binghamton, NY 13905 or the Soup Kitchen at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 83 Main St., Binghamton, NY 13905.
