Kenneth G. Kenien, 90, of Binghamton, died Sunday morning, July 7, 2002 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Freida Kenien, Binghamton; his children, Dr. Alan and Janet Kenien, Fargo, N.Dak, Dr. Lourice Kenien Rafols and Dr. Jose Rafols, Farmington Hills, Mich., Dr. Gregory Kenien and Dr. Mary Ellen Faughnan-Kenien, Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Julie Kenien, Susan Kenien, Cristina Basic, Danielle Rafols, Timothy Kenien, Michael Kenien; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Basic; brothers-in-law, Arthur Skeirik, Norman Skeirik, Michael Rochard; several nieces and nephews. Ken was a member of West Presbyterian Church, Binghamton, retired from the City of Binghamton Water Bureau and was a former School Crossing Guard. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion Post 1254 and D.A.V. Chapter 476 and First Ward Senior Citizens. Ken was an avid golfer and member of the Ely Park Golf Club. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Thursday at 10 a.m. Rev. Dr. Alfred D. Sunderwirth, Interim Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Ken may be made to the Hospice Program, c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
