Howard J. "Howie" Dibble, 73, of Binghamton, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, June 4, 2002 at his home. He was predeceased by a sister, June Balin. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Geneva Dibble, Binghamton; his children, Jack Dibble and Anna Langevin, Binghamton, Gloria Norton, Binghamton; grandchildren, Katy Norton, Wendy and Bruce Longman; two sisters, Ruth Craugh, Canandaigua, Elizabeth Harmes, Fla; a brother, Robert and Gladys Dibble, Barker; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Carol Lawton, Lockport. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Binghamton, Army veteran of the Korean War, a retired dispatcher for the City of Binghamton Signal Bureau with 20 years of service. Howie was a well respected bartender at the Sportsman's Club for many years. Funeral services will be held at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, corner of Main and Arthur Sts., Binghamton, Saturday at 9 a.m. Rev. Stephen R. Heiss, his pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Knox Cemetery, Ouaquaga, N.Y. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Howie may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church Building Fund, 83 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
