Arnold J. Michlik Obituary

Arnold J. Michlik, 85, of Binghamton,

died Wednesday evening, July 24, 2002 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He is

survived by his wife, Vera M. Michlik, Binghamton; a stepdaughter, Gail and

Edgar Smith, Vestal; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister,

Arlene Brown, Norcross, Ga.; niece, Anne Brown Weil, Norcross, Ga.; and a

nephew, Arnold Brown, Roswell, Ga.; his aunt, Marion Ford, Syracuse; special

friends, Lou and Ann Dorsey, and Bob Green. Arnold was born in Syracuse, N.Y.

He was an Army veteran of WWII, attaining the rank of Major. He, along with his

father, built many of the Endicott-Johnson homes for workers before WWII.

Following the war, he worked for Vincent J. Smith General Contractors,

designing and developing Endicott-Johnson, and Father and Son Shoe Stores. Funeral

and interment services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home,

141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. Richard Wood, Pastor of

Church of The Nazarene, Endicott, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal

Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral

Home Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m.
