Obituary of Jayne E. Mc Carthy

Jayne E. McCarthy, of Vestal, died Sunday morning, July 28, 2002 at the James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Kathryn McCarthy; and her brother, Robert J. McCarthy. She is survived by her niece, Lorraine McCarthy, Northfield, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Rose Anne McCarthy, Johnson City; very dear friend, Clayton Lance, Binghamton; her cousins, Barbara McCormack, Marjorie Parkhurst, Robert Dorin, Wayne Dorin. Jayne was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Johnson City and taught CCD to pre-schoolers at Blessed Sacrament. She was a retired engineer for IBM Corp. at Glendale with over 30 years of service. She was a member of the Monday Afternoon Club, IBM Quarter Century Club, volunteered at Mom's House and at Roberson Memorial Center. Jayne was a championship golfer at En-Joie and IBM Golf Courses. She was an avid artist and bowler, enjoyed cross country skiing and loved to cook. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Wednesday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemterey, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jayne may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Southern Tier, 1406 Monroe St., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
