Obituary of M. Eleanor Telfer

Eleanor Murphy Telfer, went from the arms of her family to the arms of Jesus, Saturday, May 18, 2002. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James G. Telfer, grandson, Davison Telfer Taylor, daughter-in-law, Carolyn Giammichele and brothers, J. Robert and Joseph Murphy. Also her parents John and Margaret Murphy. Eleanor is survived by her children, Peggy and Kurt Franzenburg, Dennis, Jimmy, Kay, Terry and Kathy, Kevin and Lynne Telfer and Karen and Mark Zimmerman. Her beloved grandchildren, Deborah and David, J Hollis, Meg, Janeille, Dennis and Mary Ann, Julie and Bill, Joann, Jena, Jackie, Erin, James, Kacy, Terry, Timmy, Tom, Matt, Kelly, Kevin, Luke and Maria, (each of whom knew were her favorite) and her great grandchildren, Devin, Kirin and Shane. In addition she is survived by her sisters and life long friends, Jean Ramsay, Therese and George Anthony, Marilyn and Lou Hudy, Arlene and Tome Longcoy, Jeanne and Phyllis Murphy. Also Marian, Ralph and Ruth Telfer; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Carol Adams. Eleanor spent the last five years with Karen and Dennis in Calif., entertaining her grandchildren with her comedic wit and sweet antics. She graduated from St. Patrick's Academy and she loved and lived her faith. She was a Eucharistic minister and taught CCD classes at St. Charismatic Renewal, Marriage Encounter and prayer groups. In remembrance of Eleanor please do an act of kindness for a senior citizen. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, Pa. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m.
