Robert J. "Bobby Dee" Dieffenbach, Sr., 58, of Binghamton, went to Heaven to play in God's Angel Band on Monday, April 29, 2002 at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his father, Riker. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Barbara Dieffenbach, Binghamton; two sons, Robert Dieffenbach, Jr. and his fiance Kimberly Clifford, Charlotte, N.C., Ronald Dieffenbach and fiance Amy Aldrich, Spring Hill, Fla.; a daughter, Kimberly and fiance Nick Piccirilli, Binghamton; his mother, Lillian Dieffenbach, Zephyr Hills, Fla.; brothers, Richard and Lois Dieffenbach, Zephyr Hills, Fla., Gerald Dieffenbach, Zephyr Hills, Fla.; sister, Betty and Dave Phillips, Hallstead, Pa.; grandchildren, Dustin, Alicia and Corey, Spring Hill, Fla.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, including Vernon and Ethel Beasley, Va., Robert and Mary Marvin, N.Y.; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bobby Dee was a musician in the area for 45 years, starting when he was 13 years old. He was former proprietor of Bobby Dee's Place and partners with his brother, Dick, in Dee Brothers. Bobby did radio shows on WNBF, WKOP and WEBO in the 60's and 70's including WNBF TV. He recorded records. For the past 15 years, he did Bobby Dee's Karoke in the Binghamton area. He organized many karoke bus trips with friends and the last trip was the best. He was an avid NASCAR fan and an avid fan of Geoffrey Bodine. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton Friday at10 a.m. Rev. Timothy R. Bennett, Pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church, Binghamton, will officiate. Burial will be in the Brookdale Cemetery, Brookdale, Pa. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the family for medical expenses.
